Remote Play needs an Xbox account and a console with remote features enabled. We recommend making the first connection with your device and Xbox on the same local network. Whether this is necessary depends on the console and network configuration: if remote access already works, you may be able to connect from elsewhere straight away. XBPlayer can wake your console from standby. Xbox Cloud Gaming does not need your own console: access depends on Microsoft’s requirements, your region and your account. XBPlayer does not include games or subscriptions.
Compare frame rate, bitrate, packet loss and decoding time in diagnostics. Packet loss can point to network trouble; decoding time helps you assess how your device processes video. Low bitrate alone does not prove limited bandwidth. For Remote Play, try connecting your Xbox to the router by Ethernet. On the device you play on, try 5 GHz Wi-Fi and pause background downloads. Lowering the stream resolution may also help. Change one setting at a time and compare the result.
On a phone or tablet, use touch controls and adjust their size and position to suit your hands and the game. For Android TV, use a compatible physical gamepad. Steam Deck has its own built-in controls.
The build works, but suspend and resume, external displays and some controller mappings are still being refined. Beta testers get early builds and can send feedback directly to the team.
Yes. In the current Android version, all streaming features are available in free mode, so you can check the picture and responsiveness on your own device. Choose to watch rewarded ads to add to your play-time balance; XBPlayer does not show ads during gameplay. Reaching zero does not end the current session: add more time before starting the next one. XBPlayer Pro is a one-time purchase that removes XBPlayer’s ads and play-time balance requirement, not a subscription. It does not include games, Game Pass or cloud-service access; limits set by the streaming service still apply.
