How to choose another Xbox or account in XBPlayer

If XBPlayer has several accounts added or you have two Xboxes at home, choose the right Microsoft profile first, then the specific console under “Your consoles”. You can give each Xbox a recognizable name on this device. A hidden console can be restored through settings.

Choose another Microsoft account

1. Save the game and end the current stream. Switching profiles does not transfer a running game session to another user.
2. Open the account menu at the top of the home screen. Select another account already added to the list.
3. If the profile is not there, open “Manage accounts” → “Add account”. Complete Microsoft code sign-in and return to XBPlayer.
4. Check the selected profile's gamertag. If Microsoft's page automatically selected the old account while adding a profile, switch it before confirming sign-in.

Your Microsoft email, Xbox gamertag and Google Play or App Store account serve different purposes. The Xbox profile determines console selection and cloud rights; the store account is used for purchases of the app itself. See the sign-in guide for authorization details.

Connect to the right Xbox

1. On the home screen, open “Your consoles” for the selected account.
2. If the list has changed, tap “Refresh consoles”.
3. Find the Xbox by name and status. If names are similar, first assign distinct local names using the steps below.
4. Select the console and tap “Start Remote Play”. Check that the expected game or Xbox home screen opens.

If the console is missing, first make sure it is linked to the selected profile and has remote features enabled. Repeatedly refreshing the list does not replace that setup. Give consoles recognizable names

Open “Console options” → “Rename” for the Xbox. In “Name on this device”, enter something like “Living room — Series X” or “Office — One S” and save.

This is a local name in XBPlayer on the current device. It does not rename the Xbox in the console's own settings or change its system name for other clients. To use the name received from Xbox again, clear the local field and save it. You may need to set the local name separately on a second phone.

Hide an unwanted console and restore it when needed

In the selected Xbox's options, tap “Hide console”. This may be unavailable while connecting, waking or streaming; finish the current action first. Hiding removes the card from the main list. It does not delete games, disable remote features or revoke account rights.

To restore it, open “Settings” → “Hidden consoles” and tap “Show” next to the Xbox. The section appears when hidden consoles exist. If all devices are hidden, “Show hidden consoles” provides a way back.

The library changed after switching profiles

This is expected if the accounts have different purchases or subscriptions. Console access through a home Xbox and personal cloud rights follow different rules: family access on a device should not be treated as Cloud Gaming access for every profile. Check saves under the correct gaming profile too. Do not create new progress over the expected save before verifying the account and edition; use the synchronization guide. On a shared device, sign out of the correct account under “Manage accounts” after playing; simply closing the app does not remove it.
