Microsoft sign-in and XBPlayer data: ad choices, sign-out and requests
Sign-in goes through Microsoft; Android and iOS protect tokens in device storage. The Android ad form does not disable analytics or session replay; data requests are separate.
On this page
XBPlayer sign-in goes through Microsoft. Your password is not sent to Hetko. On Android and iOS, authorization tokens are kept in the device's secure storage and used for requests to Microsoft/Xbox services. The Android version uses advertising, product analytics, session replay and diagnostics. Ad choices, signing out of an account and requesting action on previously processed data are separate actions.
How authorization works
You do not need a separate Hetko account to play. On the XBPlayer screen, select “Use a Microsoft sign-in code”, open the provided page or QR code, confirm the account you want and return to the app. The sign-in guide covers the full process and checking your gamertag.
Download the app through the official website. Enter your password and one-time code only as part of Microsoft's sign-in process. Support does not need your password, an active code, an authorization QR code or tokens.
What data the app uses
- Authorization and gaming services. XBPlayer contacts Microsoft/Xbox for your profile, console list, catalog and game connection.
- Advertising. Advertising partners process data to serve and measure ads; consent choices are available through the advertising form when the app offers it.
- Analytics and session replay on Android. Events about the use of screens and features help investigate how the app works. Masking text and game areas should not be treated as a guarantee that no unintended content can ever be visible in a recording.
- Diagnostics, purchases and support. Error details, device information, paid-access status and your requests are used for the corresponding features.
Information about the controller, providers and categories of processing is in the privacy policy. Before sending a log or screenshot, review it and remove personal information unrelated to your question.
What “Privacy choices” changes on Android
- Open XBPlayer's “Settings” on Android. If “Privacy choices” is available, select it.
- An advertising consent form opens. Read its options and change your decision about advertising partners' use of data.
- Confirm your choice in the form and return to the app. If the form does not open, tell support your platform, XBPlayer version and the error message.
This form does not disable product analytics or session replay. The current Android interface has no separate user switches for these two types of processing. Buying Pro removes XBPlayer ads and the time-balance requirement, but is not an instruction to delete data or disable all diagnostics.
What signing out of your Microsoft account does
End the stream, open the account menu → “Manage accounts” → “Sign out of …” and read the confirmation. Signing out removes the selected profile's saved access on this device and related local information. Other added accounts remain; if the app reports an error completing sign-out, do not treat the action as successfully completed.
Signing out of XBPlayer does not close your Microsoft account or request deletion of data previously sent to analytics, advertising or support services. Uninstalling the app and opting out of personalized advertising do not replace such a request either.
How to contact us about your data
Email hi@hetko.eu and explain what you want to ask or request: access to, correction of or deletion of XBPlayer data relating to you. For an initial request, a description of the data category, platform and approximate period of use is enough. If you do not know how to locate your records, first ask what information is needed.
Please review my request about my XBPlayer data: [request description, data category, period]. Please explain what information you need to locate records relating to me, what actions are available, and the time frames and limitations for carrying them out.
Keep your request and the response. Ask for the outcome for each category: what information was found, what was corrected or deleted, and what must be retained. Sending an email does not itself confirm data deletion; the response time and the time needed to complete an action can differ.
Prepare your data question
Specify the processing you are asking about and the outcome you want. The form below will help you draft an email.
The request is identified
Specify access, correction, deletion or an explanation of particular processing.
The platform and period are described
Give the device, XBPlayer version and approximate period of use; do not add unnecessary identifiers.
Personal information has been reviewed
Remove passwords, sign-in codes, tokens and payment details from screenshots and logs.
The advertising form does not replace this request. Review the email before sending; sending is completed in your email app.
